A priori, cacti and succulents are the ideal indoor plants since they offer decorative shapes, pretty flowers (sometimes), require little maintenance, do not suffer from forgetting to water a priori, and support better than herbaceous plants the transport inherent in the inevitable online commerce. These same assets are often also sought after for the exterior, but can you install cacti and succulents in your garden?

AGAVE is a genus of plants in the Asparagaceae family. In this genus, several hundred species have been described. They are native to the American continent, mainly Mexico but also the southwestern United States, Central America and South America. Some species have been acclimatized in Mediterranean regions. The AGAVE flowers in summer. It is an evergreen perennial succulent that reaches a maximum height of 2 meters at maturity. Rustic, it resists low temperatures down to -10°C and likes exposure to the sun, sandy, well-drained and dry soil. It is grown in a rock garden, in a container or in a pot and is planted in the spring. There are over 300 different varieties of agaves!

PORTULACEA HOBBIT is a small tree with succulent leaves. After a certain number of years, its stem takes on the appearance of a rather short and thick trunk. The flowers are small, white and clustered. With a lot of sun, the edge of its leaves turns red. PORTULACEA HOBBIT ages very well in pots. Easy to grow, it is therefore recommended for beginners. It needs plenty of light and heat throughout the year. The substrate must be quite rich but draining. Generally, depending on growing conditions, flowering can occur in winter or at the very beginning of spring. In winter, it must be protected from humidity. It supports low temperatures with a minimum of -8°C if it is sheltered from the wind and dry. For its exposure, opt for full sun.

The PENCIL PLANT originates from Southern Africa. It flowers in summer. This succulent perennial with very reduced leaves reaches up to 3 meters in height (and in nature from 6 to 9 meters). This not very hardy plant (it resists low temperatures down to -2°C), its exposure must be bright. It likes rich, draining soil with neutral to basic acidity. It is used as a houseplant, on verandas, on terraces and in the ground in gardens.

The JADE TREE plant bonsai, offers superb evergreen foliage. Very decorative and trendy, it measures up to 50 cm in height. It likes light exposure and light, well-drained soil. Succulent with evergreen foliage, it flowers in summer. Maintenance is within everyone's reach, even if a few treatments will allow you to keep it as beautiful as ever.

EUPHORBIA MAYURNA is an indoor plant, euphorbia with erect and original habit. Trunk less thick than the ingens variety, thorny, shiny, with many ramifications starting from the main stem. Illuminated, sunny exposure. Adult height in tray 3 m. Use indoors, pot, tray or winter garden, outdoors in mild climates.
