The OLEER is a very common hedge plant in the south of France. It blooms all summer with beautiful white, pink, red, salmon, yellow or fuschia flowers. This evergreen perennial flowering shrub can reach a height of 4 meters! Rustic it supports low temperatures down to -10° for the most rustic varieties. It likes sunny exposure to partial shade and light, draining soil with neutral or even slightly acidic acidity. The LAURIER ROSE is used in beds, in free hedges and in containers outside of a Mediterranean climate. It is planted in the spring.

LAURIER SAUCE is an aromatic shrub very present and native to the Mediterranean basin. Its greenish-yellow flowers bloom in spring. Its planting is also done in the spring. It can reach up to 10m in height and prefers an exposure that is both warm, sunny, sheltered from cold winds, and requires sandy, humus-rich, flexible and well-drained soil. It is an ideal hedge plant to block the view and insulate from the wind and neighbors!

CHALEF is a perennial evergreen or deciduous shrub that reaches a height of 8 meters depending on the species and variety. Its fruit can be eaten when fully ripe. Rustic, it likes exposure to full sun (deciduous eleagnus) or partial shade (evergreen eleagnus, especially the variegated forms). Ordinary, fertile, deep, sandy and well-drained soil should be preferred. Used in clipped hedges, the CHALEF must be planted in spring or autumn.

The SPANISH ORANGE likes exposure to sun and partial shade. Quite hardy, it supports temperatures of -7°, and soil humidity that is not too dry to cool with light drainage and rich soil. Pittosporum tobira is a large evergreen shrub with shiny green foliage. In May, it produces umbels of fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers. Pittosporum tobira lacks a little hardiness, so it should be reserved for regions with a mild climate or for planting in tubs, brought in in winter. It supports the pruning very well.

The LEYLAND CYPRESS flowers from March to April. Evergreen conifer, it can reach a height of 30 meters. Very hardy, it withstands very low temperatures down to -21°C. For its exposure prefer the sun to partial shade. Its soil should be cool to dry tolerant. LEYLAND CYPRESS is used in hedges or isolated. It is planted from mid-September to mid-November but also in March and April.

Native to Europe and Asia, the BURNING BUSH blooms in June and produces pretty white flowers. Perennial shrub with evergreen foliage, it can reach a height of 5 to 6 meters. Rustic, it withstands temperatures down to -15 to -20°C. For its exposure, opt for the sun or partial shade. Its soil must be rich in humus and well drained, neutral acidity but limestone accepted. The BUISSON ARDENT is used as a trimmed hedge, defensive hedge, trellised shrub and topiary. It is planted in spring or fall.

BAMBOO PHYLLOSTACHYS AUREA can reach a height of 10 meters. First bright green then yellow-brown, its evergreen leaves reach about twenty cm in length. The young shoots are edible. This bamboo loses its leaves as soon as the temperature drops below -8°C. He doesn't like dry winds in the cold season. For its exposure, opt for partial shade. Rustic, it withstands minimum temperatures of -15°C. Its cousin the BAMBOO METAKE is smaller with a maximum height of 4 meters and 2 meters wide in the ground. It has no particular exposure and is a little more hardy since it supports minimum temperatures of -20°C. Both varieties require little water and are highly resistant to pollution.

The CHERRY LAUREL, also known as PALM LAUREL, AMENDING LAUREL or TREBIZONDE LAUREL, is a large hardy evergreen shrub often chosen to create hedges around houses in particular. Its habit is compact and bushy, which is good for forming a hedge. Its dark green leaves are between 10 and 15 cm long and give off a pronounced smell of bitter almonds when crushed. White, fragrant flowers 6 to 12 cm long appear from April to May. The CHERRY LAUREL is planted from October to April and can reach up to 8 meters in height at maturity. It likes deep, rich soil, preferably with a sunny exposure.
